Can wfh / usually start at a time of your choosing
Work hours are flexible within my team. As long as you undertake the required 40 hours each week your start and finish times are flexible. You also have the option to work extra one day so you can leave earlier on another day if you need to. You are also able to have a WFH day each week.
I have had no fleixibility with my work hours. I used to start earlier at 6/6:30 because my team started then, however ever since i got my baseline i was told i am required to work corporate hours which at 7:30-4pm or 8-4:30pm. This is really inconveient for me because traffic builds up around this time, and its at least 1 hour to work. I lose most of my day on the road, and when i get home i have to cook dinner for my family, and after all that it's already late and I have had no time to do anything. I am not allowed to work from home until probation (i've been told, although i am aware other collegues in my position do).
Personally my boss is super flexible when it comes to work hours. As long as you do at least your required 40 hours a week he does not mind. Also I don't have a set start time, if i want to start earlier to finish earlier I can. If you want to do an extra hour during the week so you can leave an hour early on a Friday that is no issue (even encouraged). Also, I am allowed to work from home one or two days a week, just have to ask :)
We get flexible start and finish times however, with the option of leaving early on Friday if we have fufliflled our hours requirement during the week. We also get 2 weeks extra of annual leave, which promotes work/life balance.
