Ascent require a number of complex questions to be answered, in the form of a word document, to then be considered for an interview. The maximum word count for the answers were 500 words, and there were 6 questions in total. This was time consuming and tough because I didn't have all the insight as to why the questions were being asked, but now I completely understand the context and why they are asked as they are very applicable to the job role.
The interview environment was down-to-earth, and I felt that the interviewees were attentive and genuinely interested in me and my knowledge/experience. The assessment was not over-the-top and was at an appropriate level.
The recruitment process involved a series of steps. First was a written response to a series of questions that are designed to assess the way you approach complex questions and scenarios. Secondly, an online interview with a panel consisting of senior members of staff which went through fairly standard interview questions to understand your background and interests. Finally there was an in-person interview with senior staff specifically in your office location, designed to assess how well you fit in with the team, with more conversational approach.
