The onboarding process could be improved.
My interview and assessment process was carried out prior to covid, so the process has changed somewhat since. Currently, my understanding of the current interview and assessment process is as follows: current tertiary students and recent graduates may apply for roles as summer interns. A subset of applicants will be given the opportunity to attend an in-office assessment center, which includes an interview. Following this, successful applicants will be offered a contracted position as an intern/vacation student for twelve weeks between November and February. Following the internship program, depending on business need and intern suitability, some interns may be offered a graduate position, usually commencing about a year after the completion of their internship.
Chevron mainly hires graduates through their performance in preceding internships. Can be daunting and create competition as interns try to get the limited positions.
My interview was held significantly before the onboarding date due to the path I took into the business. The interview tends to take place before graduate work as that is the path to graduate hiring.
