My team and team leader provides many opportunities to fulfil my career aspirations, constantly checking in on me and seeing how I want to progress and helping me to accomplish my goals. The organisation however does a very good job at discouraging staying with the City.
From day one I've got lot of things to do even if it is not my area of expertise. I got right support, mentoring from managers, line leaders and from team members as well. I had a chance to work in my area of interest during the graduate program.
I moved from a graduate position into a full time role in 3 months. I find there is a lot of opportunity at the City to progress your career if you want to. For those who desire to be in senior or MGMT positions if you are driven you can achieve these.
I believe the internal budget adjustments are impacting career progression opportunities. In some cases, supervisors are prioritizing the retention of more experienced staff over graduates, which can limit development and training opportunities for new employees.
