Could be more consideration put into providing a more sustainable service, especially within the infrastructure department.
We are trying to reduce the impact at every possible way considering country's climate change and trying to implement new techniques in every possible discipline aiming for international standards.
The City could do a lot more in this space. It is not a focus at all.
I believe the City does a commendable job in prioritizing the protection of the environment—particularly in managing impacts on beaches, water bodies, reserves, wetlands, and open spaces. However, there is an opportunity to further strengthen internal environmental practices within the council. For example, promoting efficient driving strategies could help reduce fuel consumption, and implementing a comprehensive internal waste management program focused on reducing waste generation—not just separation—would be a positive step forward. Additionally, the Work From Home program significantly reduces carbon emissions, and more communication around its environmental benefits could increase awareness and support. There’s also room to encourage greater staff involvement in environmental initiatives, helping individuals see that even small, daily decisions can have a lasting impact on future generations.
