My employer's office is extremely inviting. providing plants and greenery adds to productivity and positivity. the dress code is smart casual and very comfortable whilst professional.
Csiro has many sites so i cannot comment on all sites. the site that i work on is shared with a university institution. the csiro areas of the office have spacious desks, plants that are regularly watered and big windows.
Comfortable, hot desks used. usually quiet as most people work from home. dress code is fairly loose, as long as you're wearing enclosed shoes and long pants anything is fairly acceptable.
I appreciate that we have assigned desks (as opposed to hot-desk arrangement). i feel very fortunate for a gender-neutral toilet in my office space, especially as it is not a disabled toilet (disabled toilets are important and it is not appropriate to just repurpose them to meet gender-neutral toilet needs). there are decent facilities including kitchenettes and printers but due to financial stressors, the printer in our local office has been removed so it will be interesting to see if there is enough facility support moving forward. dress code is flexible and reasonably casual which is appreciated, as many of us do a lot of field and lab work, the dress code is not strictly business/office wear. the dress code was not effectively communicated on commencement.
