Great training opportunities
The training program in my role has been extremely beneficial for my development. i have been supported to attend many conferences, seminars, courses and trainings that are both online and in person. my supervisor has supported me to present my research at a conference, talk on panels that i have been invited to speak on (as part of a represented of csiro) and attend workshops with world leading researchers. csiro also have free online training modules and courses that have allowed me to significantly developed my coding skills. however, the amount of development opportunities are often dependent on your supervisor.

There have been some good opportunities and many more i wish i could attend. my main takeaway is that i am being supported by my organisation to do driving lessons (lessons reimbursed) as part of my capability development. my career requires a full drivers licence (field work, land management etc) and i haven't had the resources or support to do it personally. i appreciate that my organisation recognised the privilege often needed to obtain a licence, that this is a key area for my professional/capability development and are supporting me accordingly.
