My managers have always been very accessible. It does depend on the team, as some have weekly 1:1, others don't. I prefer being in the same office as my manager because it makes it a lot easier to form a relationship and talk to them, but that isn't always possible depending on your team.
Very happy with my manager. They are suitably hands-off but are always available when I need help.
