Seems like majority of the responsibility to find a roll of position is on the graduate. Haven't seen any written confirmation that a roll off position will be offered after the completion of the grad program. Limited head count in desired teams leaves you potentially stuck in a role you are not entirely invested in, would seek employment elsewhere.
At the end of the graduate program you do have to find a permanent position to move into and from there can move up the ranks focusing on technical work with end goal to become a principal engineer. The other option is to focus on people management, becoming a team lead then further upwards is possible. Either direction has multiple steps and fit into my aspirations.
As a 3rd-year grad and a PhD, I feel I should be encouraged to move into a role. However, after reaching out to different teams, it seems they prefer I complete the grad program first, which feels a bit unfair for someone with a PhD.
I don't see there is much opportunity after 2 years in the company. Last year many graduates that came to the end of the graduate program struggled to get a position at Origin. I have spoken to my previous lead to demonstrate interest in case new position open up in the team, however it doesn't look like we don't have budget for another head count. I have one more year in the graduate program, however, no one has explained well what will happen at the end of the 3rd year. I feel very disappointed with this, and I might start looking for a position in another company in the next 6months, because there are too much uncertainties.
Currently not satisfied. Full time positions are not readily available for graduates completing the program and pay is below what can be obtained for same roles in a lateral move to different a company
