There is one coming up but have not yet attended one. However, I would like to see more of these training programs throughout the graduate program.
The role I started in definitely gave me a leg up in this regard training and development as we had a week of in person training and ongoing development days with different departments throughout the grad program. In the store I got placed in my first 6 months the RL did one on one training and set challenges that were great for development. Since stepping into a 2IC role there have a number of training days on different topics which have also been great, especially being with other people in similar roles for different periods of time and seeing their perspectives.
I have picked up great interpersonal skills while in the program. I have picked these up through in person interaction and physically doing the job. I have picked up skills regarding product knowledge through online courses which has been good for me and my progress.
There has been amazing training opportunities provided for me throughout my time with the business. I've learnt about good communication and relationship building skills. The workshops provided to me have been extremely helpful too, and have helped me to understand more about other people and also myself. I've also received mentoring from a branch manager over my time who has helped me with any questions I've had and shared his own experiences.
