After meeting the people and taking a tour of the space, we undertook a day off training. Here, we were introduced to the company's values, network of agencies and administration functions. This was very helpful.
Training is well organised and provided. Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to be involved in skills enhancement workshops and obtain an insurance broking qualification.
Lots of position specific training has been provided. I was also provided with my Teir 1 broking qualifications which was very useful. I also haven't been using the company training portals as I am unusually too busy at work to be using them, or they skills I could be learning are not directly transferable to my current role so I overlook it. I would also prefer training that comes with a recognized qualification, otherwise I don't find it as useful to complete it. For example, the CFI (corporate finance institute) provides financial modelling/analysis certificates which I recognized world wide and take 6 months to complete. But only cost ~$500
Young leadership programs (Xplore), presentation skills, ANZIFF (insurance broking certificate), corporate induction, plus many more.
Steadfast offer regular training and seminars to inform and upskill their employees. The knowledge gained is very beneficial and allows me to understand more insurance concepts. I've learnt more about General Insurance, presentation skills and explored new topics that Steadfast are leaning into such as AI. One recommendation would improving the practicality and engagement of full day workshops and seminars, as sometimes it can be someone talking at us the whole time.
