Tn offers good pay and benefits. The new enterprise agreement has been implemented which improves employee retention and benefits.
Whilst i realise the salary i receive is above market standards - i believe it should be on par with graduate engineers. As an economist i have spent the same time at university and part taken in various studies as difficult as that of an engineering degree. Pay parity between economic and engineer grads should be less. the benefits at tasnetworks are fantastic with plenty of flexible working arrangements and numerous leave options (with unlimited sick leave). We also have discounts and reimbursements which i enjoy. We also receive generous living away from home allowances
The pay for my role is incredibly generous and higher than most other organisations in the same location. I'm also satisfied with the mandated salary increase of 7.5% after the first year. My role can also access several other benefits such as discounts at hotels, restaurants and insurance as well as health and wellbeing rebates. i appreciate the no balance sick leave policy where there isn't a designated maximum number of days of sick or carer's leave i can take, however i am highly disappointed with the no-negative balance annual leave policy. Under it, i cannot accrue 20 business days worth of leave until i have spent a full year working within my role (also assuming i haven't taken any leave in between). The majority of events for me personally happen around the middle of the year and that is when i most require annual leave, however due to not having accrued enough leave, i'm forced to wfh or take unpaid leave. I would appreciate adjustments to our contract which allow us to go into negative leave upto our total annual entitlement with an agreement that if we have negative leave balances when we leave the organisation, we will need to reimburse for that negative leave.
Pretty good for a grad role
