I've not had the opportunity to get involved in this space yet, however having attended a few workshops where methane emissions and carbon emissions were considered and discussed in detail, I would say the company is very committed to being sustainable.
I've been fortunate enough to be witness to the huge efforts of engineering to minimise our environmental impact to as low as reasonably practicable. We know that we're an O&G company and we know that it is not exactly flavour of the month at the moment, but seeing how much is invested in our people to try and minimise environmental impacts of some of our ageing assets is quite an inspiration. Much of our infrastructure was built when the environmental concerns of today were not as issue. Seeing the efforts that people are going to operate this equipment in such a way that it has the lowest environmental impact as possible is inspiring. These are the things that the public do not see and it's sad that Woodside seems to bear the brunt of most of the aggression shown towards energy companies at the moment.
